Soggy blades of grass slipped beneath the rubber soles of your shoes, mud hung desperately onto the heel of your boots as you walked with the other campers towards the sectioned off forest for zip lining. After your little talk with Krista, who seemed much more chipper again, you had finished off your breakfast with Isabel who decided she wanted to cling to you for the rest of the morning. Once everyone had gorged themselves on food you and Levi rounded up your hoard of teenagers and had them sit in a circle around Mike who gave them a rundown of how the zip lining works and how to use the harnesses. Needles to say the 'sex swing' jokes came rapid fire this year, apparently Levi was right about his boys being perverts.

Shading your eyes with your hands you looked above you, silently mesmerized by the abundance of beauty in the simplicity of nature. Bursts of amber and coral threaded through the wet leaves, leaving kisses of warmth on the newly soaked forest floor. An ethereal glow hung amongst the tree line and you half expected forest fairies to come bounding out of fallen and hollowed logs. You half-listened to the chatter behind you, boys already making bets on who would win the most races while Levi grumbled about 'pissing contests' and 'having to dry clean his jeans later'. Mikasa walked silently by you, her normally somber eyes a fragment wider, her freshly glossed lips turned upwards. It took a second to realize the abnormal appearance of lip gloss on your younger sister when half the time she never even bothered to look in a mirror.

"Mikasa why the hell are you wearing lip gloss in a forest? Or at all for that matter?" You asked suspiciously.

"You wear lip gloss all the time." She retorted, her lips back to their usual frown. "My lips got chapped from the other night!"

"That's what chap stick is for. Why--oooooooh." You cooed, poking her shoulder with a mischievous grin. "Green eyes got you all flustered huh--OW!" You yelped, her thin fingers pinching your arm roughly. "You and Levi have grandma power pinches, god damn!"

"What are you whining about now?" Levi called a few paces behind you.

Mikasa opened her mouth but you quickly slapped your hand over it, pulling her roughly by her shoulders and placing your lips at her ear.

"If you make another smart ass remark about me liking it rough I will tell Eren you still sleep with a stuffed penguin every night." You hissed. Mikasa twitched and closed her mouth, pulling her shoulders out of your rough grasp. "I'm not complaining at all Levi why would you say that?" You sang, looking behind your shoulder at him.

He stared straight ahead, his sable locks slightly dampened from his shower earlier. As clean cut as he always was you had to admit he looked damn adorable in what he considered 'outdoor' attire. His dark wash jeans hung loosely around his legs, cleanly tucked into his black hiking boots that had somehow managed to defy all logic and remain clean the entire walk through the muddy forest. The form fitting uniform T-shirt hugging his toned back and arms, the tiniest hint of a tan underneath the green fabric.

"Will you watch where you're going? You're starting to creep me out with all your staring."

"It's too early for your sass Levi." You snapped, turning your head back forward and crossing you arms.

"Says the man who can't keep his eyes of her ass." Mikasa chimed in, her tone remaining steady and uninterested.

Letting out an unattractive snort you slapped your chest with your palm, forcing the spit that caught in your throat to resume its travel. Levi let out a soft growl at the barely audible chuckles coming from Connie and Eren. You bumped lightly into Mikasa and gave her a small smile, she nodded in response and bumped you back, continuing your walk in silence.

"Hey ____, how do we know which platforms we can use?" Sasha asked, bounding up to your left side.

"Well we marked you guys at how well you did the harnesses and we watched your physical stamina during manhunt. Well Erwin, Mike and Ness did, I was too busy running the entire length of the forest." You replied with a grin.

"That was the best game ever even though Mikasa played a dirty trick!" Sasha said, bright brown hues narrowing at Mikasa.

"Control your stomach." Mikasa responded with a shrug.

"ANYWAYS" You shouted, breaking up the verbal brawl gearing up between the two girls. "You'll all go on the straight-lined one at first, as long as you guys don't fuck up the landing you'll be able to do the intermediate ones. This is actually the first year we haven't had to ban anyone from going on the intermediate one."

"What's the advanced one like?" Sasha asked excitedly.

"Well....." You blinked, rubbing the back of your head. "It's...an experience."

Sasha's grin expanded so wide it almost needed it's own gravitational pull. You laughed awkwardly and turned your attention back to the ground you. That advanced line held the scariest and greatest memories of your blooming friendship with Hanji, that woman could be a tad obsessive over wildlife sometimes, but she'd flounce through hell naked for you if you needed her to. Although that damn line she created got you closer to death than you would have liked.

Somehow Hanji had convinced Erwin to let her design the cluster fuck of vertical doom that was the advanced line. Only really advanced athletic campers were allowed to use the it and most of the time they'd do it once and vow to never touch the line again. If anyone ever wanted to have a near death experience they'd just have to strap themselves in and prepare to nearly piss themselves every two minutes and wish granted. Unfortunately you were still naive to Hanji's 'experiments' and when she constructed the thing two years ago she had asked you to be the guinea pig since you 'were made to fly through trees', whatever the hell that meant. That should have been you first clue to run screaming in the opposite direction, instead you took a shot of tequila and jumped off without a second glance. After a very long string of curse words and a few more shots you were a grand master at that blasted line.

"Holy shit those towers are huge!" Sasha shouted, bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet. "This is going to be amazing. I'm going to kick your ass Connie!"

"Alright everyone line up over here!" Mike called, his blonde hair partially covering his eyes.

"You brats better listen, I don't have the energy to save all your asses if you end up hooking your harness wrong." Levi announced, making his way between you towards Mike. "C'mon _____."

Nodding, you left Sasha and Mikasa with the others, taking a spot on the right side of Mike while Levi took the left. Your eyes flitted between the soaring birds and milk white clouds hovering above the tops of the trees like a halo. Usually the rain left a dim streak of grey across the sky but the storm had left without a trace of its existence in the skyline. Leaning your shoulder against the first jump-off point you let the smell of wet bark and cedar beset in your senses, another wave of serenity passing over your fried nerves.

"We've got two beginning jump-off platforms and two intermediate, nobody will be doing the advanced course today. Depending on how you do with the intermediate you can ask to do the advanced line in two weeks, depending on if ____ or I feel like supervising it that day. That being said do not let me catch you trying to climb up to the other line or I will kick you off the platform and tell your parents you tripped." Levi scolded, giving Eren and Jean an accusatory glare. "Mike will be on the ground with Erwin waiting for you to land, the lines, as you can see start at nine meters, intermediate is fifteen meters and the advanced goes up to thirty meters. Hopefully you paid attention to Mike and how to stop yourself if you need to, don't depend solely on the hand breaks we have at the platform. We will be distributing the heavy gloves and helmets at the base of the platforms. We only have enough gloves for each of you to get one pair so if you loose them then you can either fly off into the forest or suck it up and suffer severe burning from the steel cable."

All of the kids groaned or gasped at the idea of burning their hands on metal, most looking in awe at the huge platforms behind them. Mike nudged you, nodding towards the group of kids. Blowing air from your lips you pushed yourself off the wood tower and clapped your hands behind your back. Speech and direction giving had to be the worst part of this entire gig, you had about as much public speaking talent as George Bush.

"Divide into lines of five and choose which of the two towers you want to go up. Helmets are mandatory I don't care how amazing you think you are, nobody can beat gravity so deal with it. This isn't meant to be a competition but we all know some people are a little salty still about loosing manhunt so if you want to redivide into those teams then go for it." You sighed, rubbing the back of your neck uncomfortably. "Uh....just don't fuck around on the harnesses or try to do weird ass back flips and shit. If anything you'll just end up hurting yourself or damaging the equipment. No attempts at a Spiderman kiss!"

The group laughed and you reeled inwardly, happy that the one person who knew about that debacle was off coloring with seven year olds. Mikasa, Connie, Jean, Annie and Marco lined up behind the first one while Eren, Ymir, Krista, Sasha and Armin went to the second one. Mikasa visibly flinched when Eren walked by her and gave her a thumbs up. It melted your heart a little, the way her eyes lowered and she pulled her bottom lip in, Mikasa hadn't ever been interested in anyone as far as you knew. She seemed content just having you by her side and it all but killed you when you left for college, it was one of the few times she had let her emotions shine through, the devastation she felt as clear as the tears that accompanied her break down.

"Hey, get up on your post." Levi beckoned, giving you a sharp tap on the back of your neck. "Take the first one."

"God always with the hitting. You have a spanking kink or something?"

Levi deadpanned and gave you the middle finger before turning on his heel and walking to the platform ladder. With a huff you wrapped your palms around the rungs of the wooden ladder and began scaling the structure. Each step brought you towards the sky, a chilled breeze thrumming through your hair. Reaching the top of the platform you placed your palms on the surface and pulled yourself up, swinging your knees upward and landing flat on your feet in a crouch. You looked down the ladder to see Mikasa's lovat hued eyes radiating with adventure, a sight rarely seen given her dull home life. You moved to the right to allow the others to come up, staring dreamily at the rustling branches thick with pine and brilliant citrine colored leaves that seemed to stretch endlessly across the land. If you squinted you could see the stone chimney attached the dining hall, though now it was  barely a spec against the colossal size of the trees. Once your five all made it up the ladder you handed them their helmets, all taking it begrudgingly minus Connie whom you had to literally slam on his head when he was busy yelling at Sasha from across the platform.

"Alright who wants to go first?" You asked, pulling on your own leather gloves.

"ME!" They all shouted in unison.

"Figures." You scoffed with an eye roll. "Alright I'll pick a number one to ten whoever-"

"Eight" Mikasa interrupted, a quirk of a smile painted on her face.

"..fine. Mikasa you're first." You said ushering her forward.

You handed Mikasa the black straps and helped her step into the two leg holes until she swatted your hands away, opting to finish the buckling by herself. Annie was staring off in the other direction while Connie, Jean and Marco were making faces at the other kids opposite of you. Levi stood with his arms crossed, permanent apathetic scowl carved in his skin. For a man who frowned more often than he cursed his skin was exceptionally smooth, as if god wanted to send you into a perpetual state of fixation. His eyes shifted towards you momentarily before they landed back on Eren who was having trouble finishing the harness. With a click of his tongue Levi yanked the cord and snapped the contraption into the pully, giving it an overly aggressive shake to make sure he wouldn't fly off.

"Get up to the platform and-" Before you could finish your sentence Mikasa had flung herself off, Eren trailing close behind. "Goo.." You groaned, covering your mouth with your palm.

"Your sister doesn't take direction well." Annie said apathetically. "Even during manhunt she made half the calls on her own."

"Well she's always been independent." You replied unfazed. "Not like you all take direction that well either. Teenagers aren't supposed to."

Annie stared blankly at you before turning towards the front, Mikasa had landed first and Erwin had shot off a small green flare signaling it was alright for the others to get ready. One after one the kids went down the line until they all were pumped and begging to go on the intermediate course. The intermediate was higher and went further than the first, it also looped through more trees giving it a more adventurous feel of flying rather than just gliding towards the ground. Everyone retreated back towards down the ladder and walked towards the taller platforms. You stopped to place one of your loose laces back into the tongue of your boot when a strange rustle startled you, it sounded way bigger than any animal that should be scampering around the area.

"You alright, you look like you just shit yourself." Levi said coming up behind you.

"Shhh, I think there's a mini bear or some shit in that bush." You whispered, crouching down fully and staring at the lush leaves. "Listen!"

"There isn't a fucking mini bear in the bush now come on, the brats are already halfway up the ladder." He hissed, pulling you up by your elbow and half dragging you towards the second platform.

"Alright same lines, same bullshit. This time if you want to race you can." Levi exhaled, cracking his knuckles inattentively.

Once you had reached the platform a few of the kids had a queasy look to their face, the freckled boy, Marco looked like he had seen a ghost while Connie had his hand over his eyes. Mikasa was standing on the edge facing the other platform, hands gripping the guardrails while Annie stood in the corner mimicking Levi's uninterested frown. Giving Marco a soft pat on the back you led him down to his knees, instructing him to take deep and even breathes.

"Marco, don't be afraid. Nothing's going to happen." Jean said trying to coax his friend out of his panic attack. "Remember when we were kids and we used to jump from my trampoline into the pool? It's like that just imagine the trampoline a little higher. C'mon dude you'll be alright."

"How sweet of you." Mikasa mumbled, taking a seat next to Marco and pulling Connie down next to her. "Both of you get it together. If you're afraid of heights then go down, if you're just afraid then face your fears, you guys did it before so another five meters isn't going to be that drastic. There's enough people watching out for you just in case you fuck up. Plus don't you want to beat Sasha?"

Connie nodded and shot up at attention, his fists clenched at his sides and his sickly composure masked with a facade of great bravery. He snagged the harness from your unsuspecting hands and hopped clumsily into the leg straps. Annie had to pull him back by the harness so he wouldn't topple off the platform at one point, but eventually after a lot of struggling he managed to proudly defeat the harness. He braced himself on the edge of the platform while you hooked him onto the pully, you could nearly feel the kid trembling against your forearm.

"You sure you're okay with this?" You whispered. He nodded his head and gave you a thumbs up, sweat coming down in sheets off his head. "Alrigghhtt." You sang, stepping back against the guardrail.

"You ready to get your ass kicked Sasha?" Connie wailed at the brunette who stood with her hands wrapped around the back of her neck.

"I was ready to go like five minutes ago Connie. Let's go!" She shouted, crouching down like a tiger ready to pounce.

"Three...two...ha!" Connie yelled, jumping before uttering the word one.

"CONNIE YOU BALD JACKASS!" Sasha screeched, jumping head first out of the platform.

Everyone cheered and whooped at Sasha's dolphin dive, her weight shifted perfectly to give her more momentum than Connie. Connie cursed audibly, the sound his voice filtering between the chirping of birds and buzzing of honeybees. Since the second platform was higher it gave everyone a better site line than the first, it was designed to see the line until it dropped off a quarter of the way before the ending, dipping into the dense forest and out of sight. Connie had managed to swing his legs out, giving him a bit more speed but it was incomparable to Sasha. She zipped through the trees like a bullet, her happy yells overpowering Connie's aggressive cursing.

You squinted, realizing Connie was squirming a little too much. It was a free-swinging pully but there was only so much rapid movement it could take with such high speeds before it threw him off balance. Pulling yourself over the guardrail you planted your feet on the first level and shot up, balancing yourself with your knees pressed against the second tier of the rail.

"Connie stop moving, the harness can't take that much force!" You yelled, cupping your hands around your lips. "Connie!"

You watched in horror while he spun his body more, trying to match Sasha's speed, his legs kicking wildly against the wind. Sasha pulled herself up, swinging her legs outward and balancing the counterweight with her arms stretched, she was screaming something at Connie which made him laugh animatedly, and then it happened. With an uncharacteristically loud scream his upper body flew backwards, sending his legs up crashing into the metal cord making it jiggle like jell-o. Everyone gasped when Connie's body completely spun, you flailed towards the handle break at the end of the line while Eren shouted a warning about an incoming branch that was now eye-level with Connie. Sasha thankfully had some secret acrobat skill and swung herself like a pendulum, gripping his shirt collar and yanking him to the left, narrowly avoiding having his skull smashed by the tree.

"Wooooo that was close! Check this shit out Jean, I'm super stealth!" Connie beamed, making weird ninja poses as he swayed through the trees.

"You're as stealth as Eren is when he watches porn on his Iphone" Jean remarked with a snort.

"How do you get service out here Eren?!" You yelled, more confused about his intense cellphone signal radius than the porn comment.

"Shut up Jean it's not all I watch!"

"Connie you dipshit!" You heard Ymir yell. "You're lucky Sasha's there to save your cue-ball ass!"

"My ass isn't a cue-ball! It's plump and perfect!"

"God fucking damn it Springer! If you want fuck your face up do it at home where your parents can deal with the mess!" Levi yelled, his voice thundering through the forest.

"I got him Levi! He's safe with me!" Sasha yelled as she dissipated into the forest, Connie's face rigid with fear at Levi's outburst.

"Watch your kids better, ____." Levi growled, giving you a look that actually made your bladder weaken.

Fighting the urge to throw your boot at him, you turned towards your group and pointed towards the empty forest with a shaking hand. Seeing Connie flip had nearly given you a heart attack, even though you knew the harnesses were strapped tight enough to hold his weight you still went into full blown panic mode. Somehow everyone else seemed to have brushed off his actions as if he would have come out of it unscathed, but hitting anything remotely solid at 50mph face first wasn't something people survived. Swallowing thickly you jumped down and rubbed your nails down the side of your cheeks, trying to attain feeling again.

"If any of you guys try that shit and end up dying I will personally bring you back to life just so I can kill you and drag you down to hell by your eye sockets. Understood?" You seethed, willing your voice to remain steady.

All four of them nodded, Annie's face showing slight surprise at your tone. Mikasa straightened her back and grabbed her harness, eyes locked on yours while she buckled her straps carefully. Mikasa knew that tone, you barely used it but when you did she knew not to mess around, it was fighting with a lion holding a bomb and loaded gun. The churning in your stomach subsided with each exhale, a steady flow of blood returned to your limbs, the ground had ceased it's spinning which meant it was probably alright for you to walk forward without falling to your death. Mikasa waited patiently for you to step over to the edge, toes curling inside your boots as you hooked her onto the pully.

"Hey Mikasa, I learned this really cool trick watching youtube videos. Wanna see?" Eren called.

"Did you not just hear what the fuck I said to Connie? Do NOT try any dumb shit Jaeger!" Levi bellowed, smacking the boy across the head with the back of his hand.

"OW! It's not even that big of a deal! It involves stopping anyways!" Eren retorted, rubbing the back of his head. "I've zip-lined before, I told you and Erwin this!"

"Eren, let's just race okay?" Mikasa said with a faint laugh.

"Oh my god." You snorted, pushing Mikasa's lower back.

"Eep!" She squeaked, loosing her balance and flying forward. "DAMN IT _____!" She cried, flipping you off with both hands as she soared towards the trees.

"Crap! Wait!" Eren yelled, jumping off and following her lead.

You smirked as they winded through the trees, wind blowing against Mikasa's braided hair, her lanky fingers dancing fluidly in the open air. Only her profile was visible but you could see her wiry smile and the infatuated glow of her eyes while she watched Eren who was still trying to find his balance. You watched Eren intently as he swung his body much like Sasha had done, only his gloved hands gripped at the metal wiring, slowing his speed. Mikasa placed her hands on the line, applying pressure around the cord to slow her movement so she was parallel with Eren. With a wide smile Eren successfully swung his lower body completely upwards, lean legs surpassing the line while his body twisted, similar to a pole vaulter in the middle of a jump. He released his hands as his hips passed over the line making his front flip complete, a triumphant shout leaving his throat.

"Wait, Eren!" You yelled, already feeling it was much too late to warn him.

"Wha-FUUUUUH" He screeched, the momentum of his spin throwing him bow-legged into the trunk of a tree.

"OHHHHH!" Shouted every male in the vicinity, each bending at the knees and clutching at their crotch. Even Levi had a clear look of anguish, his hand hovering protectively over his bulge.

"OH my god Eren!" Yelled Mikasa, grinding to a halt with her unnatural hulk strength. "Are you alright?"

"Guess the family line ends with Eren." Annie said unsympathetically.

Levi snapped the hand break on his line and jiggled the chord trying to get a reply from Eren. The brunette cautiously released his choke hold on the tree, legs falling limp and tears streaming down his tanned cheeks. You winced and tapped at the hand break for Mikasa so she could swing over to Eren and pull him into her body.

"At least Eren's getting some action." Jean said annoyed. "Too bad he won't be able to use his dick."

"Don't say that Jean, they might be able to save one nut."

"Annie! Jean! That's so fucked up, that poor kid must be in a world of pain right now." Marco chimed, his eyes laced with concern.

"Maybe Mikasa will kiss it better." Annie chortled.

It was nearly impossible to ignore the icy stare Mikasa was sending Annie's way, the cold draft that girl could bring with a simple furrowed bow would put an ice age to shame. Knocking the hand break with your palm you released the grip, sending Mikasa barreling forward again unexpectedly.

"Damn it _____!" She shrieked, quickly regaining her grip on the line.

"I thought you wanted to win!" You replied sheepishly, giving Annie a kick in the shin when she opened her mouth.

"OH my god Annie, alright enough talking about Eren's dick I'm getting a headache." You whined.

"Eren I'm going to pull you back alright?" Levi called, manually reeling the line back towards him.

"No! I'm..good! Let me go." He rasped, legs still slightly trembling.

"Alright." Levi shrugged and released the line with an impassive glance.

"Levi!" You yelled, watching Eren's face go pale as he flew off into the forest.

"AAHHHHH FUUUCCCCKKKKK NAATTURREEE" Eren's voice rebounded against the woodland, raising a stifled chuckle from everyone around you.

"Jesus Christ." Jean snorted, a hearty laugh rumbling in his chest.

Mikasa released her grip and flew forward after Eren while Jean tried to regain his balance. He was laughing so hard tears were cascading down his face, you weren't entirely sure if the sympathy ball-smacking pain had warn off or if he found Eren's exit ridiculously hilarious, either way it was enough to make him stumble towards the edge of the platform. Marco and Annie reached towards him but you had the grand idea to put your weight on the edge and push him back towards Annie and Marco. Gravity yet again tried to thwart you, pulling at you devilishly when your supposedly non-slip boots slipped on the dampened wood.

"FUCK ME SIDEWAYS!" You squeaked, feeling the wood clash against the skin of your knee as you plummeted to the ground.

Thinking quickly you shot your hands out and gripped onto the edge of the platform, pushing your palms directly into the edge. Dangling freely over the forest gave you flashback of Hanji's deathtrap line and a bubbly laugh left your mouth.

"_____! You uncoordinated shitty brat why the fuck are you laughing. You think death is funny? Are you actually proud that your last words would have been 'fuck me sideways' you god damn troublesome--FUCK!" Levi yelled, his voice cracking under the strain.

"I'm not laughing at death I swear! It's..I'll tell you later, I'm fine!" You panted.

"PULL HER UP YOU MORONS!" Levi shouted, waiving his arms frantically at the three awestruck teenagers.

"I can just go around and reach the ladder, I trust my climbing skills more than coordination."

When Levi remained silent you peered up at him through the cracks in the platform above. He was hunched over with his hands gripping his kneecaps looking like he just shit out a butcher knife. If you weren't dangling fifteen meters in the air you would have found his reaction sweet, but as death threatened to snatch you up as soon as your muscles gave way you decided to hasten your escape. Moving your hands carefully you pulled yourself around the side until your legs met one of the support beams running across the parallel pillars holding up the platform. Levi watched you like a hawk while you lowered yourself onto the beam, wrapping your arms around the column so you could catch your breath. From your vantage point you could see the lone platform that held the advanced line and the outline of the hollowed tree you and Levi hid in the previous night.

The advanced platform was so much taller compared to the intermediate, you had never actually compared the two since you'd been busy supervising the last two years. Thinking back, it was a miracle you and Hanji never returned injured, the lack of talented campers always left it untouchable to you until the dead of night. Sighing loudly you walked along the flat scaffolding, arms outstretched to give yourself a sense of balance. A glint of red popped into the corner of your eye, pausing your ministrations you craned your head sideways, peering between the platform. A shadowy figure was climbing up the ladder swiftly, it was too big to be a cat and definitely too smart to be any forest animal. Erwin wouldn't have let the kids walk back without Ness's supervision and after Connie and Eren's debacle you figured they'd be weary about trying anything else that would leave them injured.

The small body moved out of sight before it finally registered in your mind. Tiny body, red hair, breaking the rules, Isabel

"____, what are you looking at?" Levi called, bending down and examining you through the guardrail. "You're not graceful enough to perform acrobats, now get to the ladder before you break your neck."

"Levi, Isabel's going on the advanced line!" You yelped, scrambling forward on the beam.

"____ be fucking careful!"

"Isabel!" You screamed, barely making it to the ladder without falling forward on your face.

As soon as your hand gripped at the middle rung you jumped, extending your legs so you could slide down on the sides of the ladder using your cheaply made boots as traction to send you shooting downward. When you ran out of ladder you tumbled backwards gracelessly, body beginning to throb from all the activity in the past twenty four hours. You eyed the advanced line, her tiny form becoming more visible as she got higher up the ladder. Rolling to your knees and bolting upright you darted towards the tower. Grass crunched under your feet, dew drops fell onto your cheeks and head from the foliage above, your heart beat malevolently against your ribs, the unsteady rhythm sending thundering vibrations up the front of your skull.

"Damn it, Isabel STOP!" You screamed once again, voice becoming raspy from the constant screaming. "STOP STOP!"

She had reached the top of the platform by the time you got to the ladder, body shaking and begging to be left to rest after the abuse it took the night before. Every nerve was pulsating with fatigue, each move of your muscle felt like it held the weight of a building, but the drive behind the cause was greater than the pain it inflicted on your beaten body. Scaling the ladder rapidly you gulped, calling her name out repeatedly as you ascended. Either she really couldn't hear you or she really didn't care because she took one look at the line and grabbed onto the hook above her, no harness no helmet and no gloves.

"ISABEL!" Levi screamed from below, he had stopped dead in his tracks, face horror-stricken and pallid.

"Watch, I'll be really good. You'll see!" She called happily, tiny hands wrapping around the clasp that was connected to the cord.

Clambering forward your nails scraped against the platform, dragging your body up just as her feet left the edge. Panic blitzed across your chest, constricting and amplifying the sound of your erratic pulse in your ears to the point of deafness. You felt weighted, as if the world was trying to compress you against the ground and squash the life out of you. The fright had fueled you, or the guilt of what would happen if you couldn't stop her, whatever had coated over the panic that had originally frozen you twisted your nerves and sent you flying towards her with impeccable speed. She had just become airborne when you wrapped your arms around her waist. It was a short lived victory, as the same troubles that sent you tumbling previously came back to haunt you and sent you sliding forward off the platform and spiraling towards the ground.
